Frequently asked questions

  • The short answer is no, we welcome everyone regardless of skill. Before setting off, we'll provide guidance on how to use the equipment safely. Our staff are all fully qualified instructors with ready access to powered rescue boats.

  • We recommend you arrive in plenty of time in order to get changed and attend the safety brief, at least 30mins before your booking time.

  • We will set you a designated paddle area, but this obviously depends on weather and wind conditions on the day.

  • We provide you with the paddle equipment, as well as a helmet and buoyancy aid that must be worn. You are very likely to get wet during the session so make sure you have spare clothes and shoes you don't mind getting wet. We have fishing on site so footwear is compulsory.

    If you need a wetsuit, then wetsuit hire is available as an option when you make your booking.

  • The Waterside Café is on site and available for everyone to use, serving hot food and drinks from 9-5pm every day.

  • Yes, we have picnic benches all round the reservoir for the public to use, please feel free to come on down and see what we do!

  • We have a full café serving hot food and drink all day, plenty of picnic benches and space around site for you to bring the family as well as showers, toilets and changing facilities.

  • Unfortunately Thames Water will not allow dogs onto the main site, however you are more than welcome to use our car park and there is a dog friendly country side walk leading round to the Thames that you are welcome to use.

  • As we are on a Thames Water site we have a large public car park, at this time there are no charges & you can park all day.
